Rabies Clinics

All animal bites and any animals suspected of having rabies should be reported to the Amherst County Department or the Department of Animal Care and Control.
Animal Care and Control will respond too and investigate all animal bites and will ensure that any animals involved in these incidents are to be confined.

The Health Department is also responsible for the confining of domestic animals that bite people or expose them to rabies, and for the testing of animals that are potentially rabid.

The Department of Animal Care and Control urges all cat and dog owners to have their pets properly vaccinated in accordance with state law. In addition, there are rabies clinics held periodically throughout the year to afford citizens the opportunity to have their pet vaccinated. Please contact the Animal Care Center for these dates.
Report animal bites and suspected rabid animals to Animal Care & Control and the Health Department.
