The intent of the Amherst County Sign Ordinance is to allow signs that do not compromise public health, welfare, and safety, and to allow signs that create a more attractive business climate and protect the natural beauty of the county. Therefore these regulations should prevent signage that by reason of location, size, number or manner of display endanger the public or obstruct views of scenic beauty or detract from the neighborhood and surrounding area.
