The Commissioner of the Revenue is a locally elected Constitutional Officer responsible for administering all local taxes. It is the duty and an honor for the Commissioner of the Revenue to serve the citizens of Amherst County. The Commissioner of the Revenue's office provides services regarding:

    2. Business Personal Property Tax
    3. Machinery & Tools Tax
    4. Business License Tax
    5. Meals Tax
    6. Lodging Tax
    7. Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly or Disabled
The Commissioner of the Revenue is responsible for assessing property and the Treasurer is responsible for collection of all taxes. Any questions concerning the assessment need to be addressed by our office while billing and payment questions need to be addressed by the Treasurer's office at 434-946-9318.
