Registering to Vote in Virginia
Who can register to vote?
- You must be a citizen of the United States of America
- You must be a resident of Virginia
- You must be at least 18 years of age by the next general election
- If you have been convicted of a felony, your voting rights must be restored and you must provide proof of restoration
- You must NOT BE currently judged by a Circuit Court to be mentally incompetent

- Apply in person at the Registrar's Office located in the Amherst Courthouse Complex - 113 Taylor St - 1st Floor - Amherst, VA.
- Apply online by visiting The Virginia Department of Elections.
