Lost Pets
The Amherst County Animal Care Center maintains a directory of lost and found animals to assist in reuniting animals with their rightful owners. Animal Care Center staff will cross reference lost and found reports to check the animals currently housed at the Center. You may report lost and found animals in person, by calling the Care Center or reporting it to our Dispatch Center at (434-946-9300).
Please be prepared to provide a good description and/or photograph of the animal. Descriptions include:
- Breed or breeds
- Color or colors
- Gender
- Age
- Size and Weight
- Coat and tail length
- Ear size and type
- Type of collar worn
- Unique markings
- Location/Area Lost or Found
