Victim/Witness Program

Four Women Die Every Day in this Country from Domestic Violence!

Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the United States, more than car accidents, muggings, and rape combined. A woman is more likely to be assaulted, injured, raped, or killed by a male partner than by any other type of assailant. If you are a victim of domestic violence, please know that you are not alone.

Domestic violence occurs in all economic, ethnic, and social backgrounds. The abuse is not your fault; no one deserves to be physically or emotionally abused. Many victims of domestic violence have changed their lives and escaped the abuse. Talking with someone is the first and most crucial step in getting the help you deserve. There are people in your community willing and able to help you.

We at the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office can offer that help and will do all that we can to make sure you get the support you need.
