Amherst County, Virginia

Amherst County Maintenance is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds under the control of the Amherst County Board of Supervisors, to include, Amherst County Courthouse, Jail, Sheriff's offices, Administrative offices, Health Department, Social Services, Parks & Recreation, Treasurer, Commissioner of Revenue, and VA Extension Services.

The Maintenance staff also maintains three watershed lake properties along with those park facilities. Other park facilities include, the James River Monacan Park, in Elon, Virginia and Coolwell Park in Faulconerville, just off North Amherst Highway.

The Maintenance staff is also responsible for installing and maintaining the E911 street signs for the county emergency services department.
