Amherst County Convenience Centers
The Amherst County convenience centers are facilities where Amherst County residents can bring their waste for free. The waste is collected at the centers and sites and then transported to the Amherst County Landfill for disposal. Recycling services are also available for Amherst County residents at all convenience centers. All Amherst County convenience centers are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. All of Amherst County convenience centers close at 2:00 pm the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and on Christmas Eve. See hours of operation for specific station information below.
