The Amherst County Sheriff's Office- is accepting applications for the positions of full and part-time Corrections Officers, full-time Cook, full-time Field Deputy, and part-time Civil Process Deputy. The full-time starting salary is $30,285 annually or $14.24 an hour for part-time officers.
Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Virginia operator's license and will be required to successfully complete a polygraph examination and an extensive background investigation.
