To provide a public forum on issues of public concern relating to fire, rescue and emergency services in the county; to make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on policy for the provision of such services; regarding the approval or disapproval of the organization of any fire company pursuant to Virginia Code, § 27-8.1, or of any rescue squad pursuant to Code of Virginia, § 32.1-111.14; regarding rules and regulations to be adopted for the operation of the department; and to make specific recommendations regarding training standards and requirements.
